ah, the cbc is awesome

i don't know why i haven't done it before, but catching up on canadian tv is great. becky has been watching the rick mercer report online for sometime and i recently started watching it with her each tuesday night. it is such a great show, i especially look forward to watching his rants. we were able to meet him in 2001 when we were on a trip to the maritimes. linda (that's her with rick) was taping an episode in halifax of his made in canada show and we were able to be on the set during filming. he was a very gracious host while we were there and he encouraged us to extend our trip to newfoundland (his home province).

everyone needs to watch this show. especially you scott.

Now if only we could get Hockey Night in Canada. Oh, and Corner Gas. I know it's available online, but only if your IP address is *inside* Canada. It's kind of the same issue that Canadians have trying to catch up on Lost Episodes by going to ABC.com.) Although word has it that CW (The old WB) is going to carry Corner Gas next year.

I do love me some Canadian Comedy.

Back when we had cable,(last week really, but it feels sooo much longer) we watched Corner Gas all the time. During the first episode we saw, we kept repeating, "This is so funny, are you sure it's Canadian? It can't be...no, it is!".

It's definitely up there with The Rick Mercer show, the Littlest Hobo, Reach for the
Top, The Beach Combers and Street Legal.

Canadian T.V. Another reason to be proud.

Oh, and The Hour with George Strompolompolous(?) is good too. At least it used to be good back when I watched T.V.

"*Canucks* at Large" *is* Becky & Keith's Blog...

Is "Canucks" a term only recognizable to Canadians?!

What about the Vancouver Canucks?

But then, Americans tend to not love hockey to the same degree as Canadians...

I just remembered another: Just Like Mom. Reach for the Top reminded me of Just Like Mom. I actually know 2 people who were on it...

When I was a kid, I wanted to be on Just Like Mom with my mom because I had a plan: always answer (c) for multiple choice questions, and my baked good was going to be the one with copious amounts of relish. I never understood why kids didn't just organize these things ahead of time.

(For those of you who don't know it, Just Like Mom was like the newlywed game for kids and their moms, and the finale for the show was always kids baking something with all the right ingredients presented to them, plus some nasty parts that didn't belong, like ketchup, mustard and relish. Then the moms had to taste test all three things and decide which one their little darling had concocted. Now that's some good tv.)
